Testing yourself

We all can train at a level where we are comfortable with the results and after training we can justify just how difficult it was with a logical argument. This will not test you or give you the ability to react with little warning.

Martial arts training should offer you the opportunity to expand your knowledge and develop your skills. It should test the robustness of your techniques and develop the ability to string techniques together in a smooth manner. It can be a great way of developing mental toughness and demonstrating (or not) the level of courage and determination.

“Fear” will always hold us back, but through confrontation we have the opportunity to grow and become stronger. When we become stronger we develop the ability to defeat our opponent, but more importantly we develop the ability to deal with our fears.
