Explanation for Children

DEI stands for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Here’s a simple way to understand each part:

Diversity: This means having lots of different kinds of people. Just like a garden with many types of flowers, diversity is about having people of different races, ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Equity: This is about fairness. Imagine if everyone is trying to see over a fence, but some people are shorter. Equity means giving the shorter people a box to stand on so everyone can see equally well.

Inclusion: This means making sure everyone feels welcome and valued. It’s like inviting everyone to a party and making sure they all have fun and feel included.
