Introduction to basic movements
— Using forward and backward movements (without turning at first) will help reinforce the techniques and motion. This can be done feet only or combining the hands.
— Let the students know that before stepping back into a low section block – turn the body 90°. This way you develop more power blocking using your arms and rear leg to assist the block. It also assists in keeping your stance one shoulder width. Make sure that their back leg is locked straight and rear foot 45°. We see this problem in later patterns so making it a priority now will help later patterns.
— Horse Riding Stance middle section punch is one of the most important techniques. Here they learn to focus on a target which allows the student to kick & punch with accuracy. “Aim small, miss small”.
— Additionally, they will learn how important it is to twist at the end of your technique, strengthens the technique. - Online Training – Grades 10 – 7
