How long have you been training in Taekwondo? And what got you started?

I decided to join my son in Taekwondo training in 2019 to support him, but it turned into a journey of self-discovery for me.

Highlights of your Taekwondo success?

One of the highlights of my Taekwondo journey was achieving my black belt after years of dedication and hard work. It was a moment of immense pride and satisfaction, marking a significant milestone in my martial arts journey.

Describe your first black belt grading, and what it took to get you there?

My first black belt grading was challenging. Throughout, I felt the weight of needing to prove myself and make everyone proud. The pressure was intense. However, with unwavering support from Master Paul, my instructors, colleagues, and family, I gained the confidence I needed

 

How often do you train? In Taekwondo? Gym? etc

I train twice a week and practice all my patterns and techniques at home in addition to regular exercise.

Favourite Taekwondo move or moves?

– Tornado kick
– Outer crescent kick followed by jumping reverse crescent kick

What are your personal goals in Taekwondo?

My personal goals in Taekwondo are to consistently enhance my skills, attain mastery of advanced techniques, and compete at increasingly challenging levels. Additionally, I prioritise sharing my knowledge with new members to contribute to their growth.

Your favourite saying and what this means?

The more I learn, the more I realise how much I still have to learn.

Best advice you can give someone training and wishing to start training in Taekwondo?

Never underestimate the power you have to take your life in a new direction.

What other activities apart from Taekwondo do you enjoy?

Playing Guitar

Favourite movie(s) and why?

I enjoy Horror movies because they provide a thrilling experience of fear within a safe environment, allowing me to explore the extremes of horror.

Favourite food?

Seafood / Sushi

With regards to Taekwondo where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?

I envision myself achieving higher black belt degrees, mentoring newer students.
